Floor Trusses

Floor Trusses

Direct Prefab design, engineer and manufacture two variants of Prefabricated Floor Systems - Posi-Strut 'Metal Web' Trusses and 'Timber-Web' Floor Trusses with 200mm to 450mm depths. Both Floor Truss configurations provide efficient span performance with 'open-web' configuration for routing services, built-in Step-Downs, integration of concealed pelmet, box gutters, top chord support and various heel connection details.
Floor Trusses are suitable for Residential and Commercial applications with Regulatory Compliance for 90 minute and 120 minute Fire Ratings. The lightweight construction, durable flange and versatility of being a Truss construction, also makes Floor Trusses an upgrade for conventional Raftered Roofs with Solid Beams.
Our experience and design methodology provide consideration to the construction of Floor Trusses throughout the process of set-out, design, documentation, manufacture and delivery of each Floor System.

Our 'Whole-Of-House' design approach builds an interactive CAD model which details and visualises all building details, combining information from working drawings, structural documentation, building details and relevant Australian Standards in a single CAD model. Collaboration on the Whole-Of-House model provides a unique opportunity for us to highlight and mitigate building design failures, problem solve issues and illustrate any aspect of the build prior to commencing construction onsite. Our engineers are trained and fully versed in leveraging the capabilities of the most advanced software in the industry to achieve faster, smarter and accurate results.

"There’s nothing better than knowing the floor of your project will hold you up."

Floor Trusses that 'stand the test of time' start with utilising industry leading MiTek Sapphire Software with the proven quality and reliability of MiTek 'GangNail' and Engineered Building Products. From the simplest to the most creative architectural designs, our Truss Engineering and Design team utilises the most advanced design tools available to implement engineering requirements and any special design criteria (such as, Step-Downs to accommodate differing floor materials, Concealed Pelmet for Blinds/Lighting/Shadow-Lines, Preconfigured Balcony Grade, Cantilever Projections, Concentrated Floor Loads, and so on). The design process computes stress factors and concentrations throughout the Floor - ensuring all Timber Floor Truss System Designs meet and exceed Australian Engineering and Safety Standards.

Our Timber Floor Truss Systems are brought to life through the manufacturing and production process; designed and engineered truss components are collated and optimised through CNC processing saws and assembled in a controlled environment. Accuracy and design specifications are consistently maintained through transfer of digitised designs to the Precision CNC Assembly Jigs and monitoring via CAD projection systems.

Why choose prefabricated floor trusses?

One thing is clear: prefabrication is changing the way the building industry operate, and those who don't adapt risk falling behind.

Direct Prefab Trusses' make the job easy for the builder and installer.

Ultimate flexibility for Services and Installation:

The intrinsic design of Timber Floor Trusses provides the most flexibility for efficiently routing services with minimum compromise. Providing easy access for services on-site also ensures structural integrity cannot be compromised by drilling and cutting out holes.
Floor Trusses adopt a wider Flange Dimension with 70mm or 90mm wide chords made from Structural Pine - providing superior connection surface for Flooring Material, mitigating splitting of skinny LVL chord with a wide fixing flange that has significantly better withstand to accepting fasteners and adhesion of glue.
Floor Trusses can be designed to accommodate variances in site construction, by either fabrication with a 'trimmable end' detail or fabrication based on site measure.
Management

Designed for Peace of Mind:

Designed and Built to exacting specifications, Floor Trusses are individually coded to correlate directly to the site installation layout - eliminating the need for material planning and potential for errors made in interpretation of Engineering-Joist plans or incorrect cutting onsite.
Planthand

Responsible and Waste Efficient:

Prefabricated Floor Trusses efficiently utilise the core strengths of conventional Structural Framing Timber; significantly reducing the requirements of energy and resource inefficient production of I-Joists - made from Laminated Veneer Timbers, Oriented Strand Boards and Petroleum Glues.
Supporting conventional Structural Framing with Timber Floor Trusses provides direct support to local production of Structural Framing and promotes sustainable material usage.

Building Efficiency for Time & Safety:

Prefabricated Floor Trusses are delivered to site ready for installation. Individually Coded and built to exact span, Floor Trusses eliminate the need for cutting; significantly expediting the installation process compared to alternative floor framing solutions.
The utility of Floor Trusses contributes to a safer work site and improved construction efficiency - wider flange and strongback bracing members provide a much stabler platform to walk on during flooring installation. Overall, the process minimises the amount of work performed onsite.
Sapling

Manufactured from sustainable resources:

Each year tiny saplings grow taller and stronger and at the same time efficiently removing and storing carbon dioxide from our atmosphere via photosynthesis. This process continues efficiently for around 30 years when the growth rate slows and the rate of carbon capture curbs. FSC Harvested Timber harnesses Plantation Grown Trees, providing a renewable source of our Structural Timber and a permanent Carbon offset for the construction process.
