Wall Frames

Wall Frames

Direct Prefab provide end-to-end service with design, engineering and manufacture Prefabricated Wall Frames in Residential and Commercial applications; providing detailed documentation to fully support the design and computation of all Prefabricated Wall Frame components. Our experience, design methodology and quality driven approach provides assurance that all aspects of building design and construction requirements are considered throughout the process of setout, design, documentation, manufacture and delivery of each project.

Our Prefabricated Wall Frames are produced from a 'Whole-Of-House' design that builds an interactive CAD model to visualise all building details, combining information from working drawings, structural documentation, building details and relevant Australian Standards in a single CAD model. Working from the Whole-Of-House model provides a unique opportunity for us to highlight and mitigate building design failures, cross-check and detect potential omissions in engineering, problem solve issues and illustrate any aspect of the build prior to commencing construction onsite - there's no 'guess work' or assumptions. Our Timber Frame Engineers are trained and fully versed in levering the capabilities of our Timber Framing Design platform to achieve faster, smarter and accurate results.

"There’s nothing better than knowing the wall frames of your project are Structurally Sound when put to the test."

A Structurally sound Timber Frame starts by gathering all information sources and synthesising these details together into the project specific Building Information Model (otherwise a Structural CAD model or BIM) - utilising class leading MiTek Sapphire Software with the proven quality and reliability of MiTek Engineered Building Products. From simple to the most complicated and non-conventional designs; our Timber Frame Engineers and Design team utilises the most advanced modelling tools available to implement engineering requirements, resolve design criteria and formulate a dynamic 3D structural model to accurately distil loads paths and magnitude throughout the structure and validate member design - ensuring all Timber Roof Truss System Designs meet and exceed Australian Engineering and Safety Standards.

Our Prefabricated Timber Frames are bought to life though the manufacturing and production process; designed and engineered frame components are collated and optimised through CNC processing saws and assembled in a controlled environment. Accuracy and design specifications are consistently maintained through transfer of digitised designs to the Precision CNC Assembly Tables and monitored through the assembly process via CAD projection systems.

Why choose prefabricated wall frames?

One thing is clear: prefabrication is changing the way the building industry operates, and those who don't adapt risk falling behind.

Direct Prefab Wall Frames make the job easy for the builder and installer.

Designed and Engineered to the highest industry standard:

Maintaining strict design requirements and a strong knowledge base of engineering means our designers maintain compliance with Australian Standards, but also look beyond these specifications to current and new building trends which may adversely impact design, not otherwise accounted for in the classical Australian Standards.

Security and Peace of Mind:

Manufactured offsite, Theft is discouraged when Prefabricated Walls are delivered to site because 90% or more of the material and hardware is already fabricated into a site specific 'finished product'; in contrast to the appeal thieves see in readily usable 'packs of timber', loose materials and hardware.
Planthand

Responsible and Waste Efficient:

Prefabricated Framing significantly reduces the accumulation of waste materials associated with 'Stick Framing' - promoting responsible building practice, minimising disposal costs and additionally managing the unpleasant aesthetic of large amounts of waste materials cluttering the site.
Fabrication in our production facility optimises the use of all materials and makes 'offcut inventory' available for use in other areas of production processes - providing the most efficient solution to responsible waste management.

Reliable and Consistent:

Manufacturing offsite utilises our automated material handing and assembly systems to ensure precision and consistency of all production - providing a prebuilt and reliable product onsite reduces the reliance on skill and expertise of the carpenters.
Production in a controlled environment provides the opportunity to progress onsite with harsh and inclement weather conditions - requiring 70% less labour onsite to instal prefabricated walls in shorter windows of time.

Building Efficiency for Time & Cost Savings:

Prefabricated Walls are delivered to site ready for installation, significantly expediting the framing processes compared to traditional stick framing onsite. Overall, the process minimises the amount of work performed onsite and work performed at heights - contributing to a safe work site with smaller installation teams and less time onsite.
Sapling

Manufactured from sustainable resources:

Each year tiny saplings grow taller and stronger and at the same time efficiently removing and storing carbon dioxide from our atmosphere via photosynthesis. This process continues efficiently for around 30 years when the growth rate slows and the rate of carbon capture curbs. FSC Harvested Timber harnesses Plantation Grown Trees, providing a renewable source of our Structural Timber and a permanent Carbon offset for the construction process.
